Onto today's project. As you read earlier, I am not entirely sure how I felt about my last Clean & Simple Black & White card seen HERE. I thought I should redeem myself. HERE is a new sketch for this week.
I thought this was a very interesting sketch. One that has many possibilities. In fact, for me, there were so many possibilities, I thought I might as well share exactly what's in my head. :)
I started off wanting to use my Buttons, Buttons stamp set and/or Sweet Buttons embosslit. BTW, good news! The embosslit is on the carryover list, which means you can still order it!!! Anyways, I wanted to use some happy colors. After looking at my collection of papers, I landed on the In Colors. I ran each color through the Big Shot with the embosslit. I used Stampin' Write markers to directly color on my new Summer Mini stamp set, Happy Greetings. Next, I glued the buttons onto my Whisper White.
Then I decided to run the Whisper White through the Big Shot with Square Lattice embossing folder. Look at what happened. The button details disappeared! My buttons have become basically just shapes.
I still felt like this needed something, so I added a piece of Concord Crush mat.
That looked OK, but still felt it was missing something. So I changed out the Peach Parfait cardstock to a piece from the pattern stack. Much better!
Next, I wondered what it would look like using the stamp set. Here it is, stamped up.
Lastly, it went through the Big Shot again.
So there you have it, I'm not exactly sure if this meets the Clean and Simple definition. But it was actually fun to go through the various possibilities. Which one is your favorite?
My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Happy Greetings
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Concord Crush
Papers: Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Concord Crush, In Color Patterns Stack
Accessories: Sweet Buttons embosslit, Square Lattice embossing folder

Annie, thank-you for sharing that design journey,I loved it! I actually quite like the effect of the squashed buttons, LOL! If I had to choose a favourite - perhaps the first one but with the concord crush mat added? I do love those buttons. :-)
Love the experimenting here. I really like the coloured buttons that have turned into shapes...so effective :)

What a fabulous display of sooo many different options! I'm loving that 'all over' embossing look... I think I will just have to try it for myself!
So many cards! You´re quite busy! :-)
Love the ideas to use the CAS sketch! Beautiful!

I love the detail of the buttons in the first one. But I saw that square embossing folder on a different blog today, and I just love it too. Could you have put the buttons on AFTER you embossed the white card stock? It was great to see all those choices, and I think of one you don't have....hmmmm
