Reason to Smile

Thank you for continuing to visit me in blogland.  I got a chance to play with some more new toys and I wanted to show you what I made.  I was at a loss for what layout to use, and I decided to pick something that I've saved and never CASE'd.  The layout here is from Angie.  I love that she used Top Note die as part of her card.  I just LOVE using Top Note die (#113463).  I love the shape, I love the size, I love that it has perforation for interest.  I also love that you can use it on a card, or to make 3-D projects with.  A totally versatile die.  A truly must-have in your arsenal!
Recognize this stamp?  No?  It's called Reason to Smile.  It's an exclusive set that you can only purchase in July, for $5 with $50+ purchase!  Here's what comes in the set:
Can you see how I used a couple of the other stamps in this set in the background?

Here's another card using the same set for you:
Here I used the Labels Framelits (#125598) and a new DSP called Comfort Cafe (#126898).  I love the softness and small flower prints in this DSP.  Oh!  Did you see I used a new ribbon? :)

Father's Pennants

I had literally 30min before we left the house to make a card for my father-in-law on Father's Day.  Inspiration came from Angela's hybrid card.
My color printer is out of a color, and I'm too lazy to change the cartridge.  So I just did an actual card. I hand drew the pennant poles.  They're a tad bit too skinny.  Oh well.

Side view.  I popped up the middle flag, and popped up the top one even more with 2 Dimensionals.
Remember you can shop via MY STORE to get preferred pricing!

Betsy's Thank You

Did you think I was never going to show you anything from the new Annual Catalog?  I apologize for my sporadic presence here lately.  I've been working on a fundraiser for a church.  We're making all kinds of paper crafts to sell.  So I've been busy coming up with projects and cutting papers.  Today, though, I took a break and finally opened my new toys!

When I first saw this stamp set, I wasn't too impressed.  It sure didn't take long for me to realize the error of my ways. LOL.  There have been some super awesome cards made with this stamp set, called Betsy's Blossoms.  This card is inspired by several different cards I've seen online, but mainly THIS CARD by Ilina.  I changed the dimension of the card to regular A2 and added the big circular starburst.  I actually don't have the Daffodil Stitched Ribbon yet, so I used Rich Razzleberry, which is also new.
I did handcut (gasp!) the bird.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Frames, and cut using the new Banners Framelits.  You can get all these products and more from MY STORE.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Betsy's Blossoms (WM#126004, CM#126006), Itty Bitty Banners (WM#126255, CM#126257)
Ink: Gumball Green (#126861), Daffodil Delight (#126944), Rich Razzleberry (#126950)
Papers: Floral District DSP (#126919)
Accessories: Bitty Banners Framelits (#129267), Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain ribbon (#126876)

Fabric Friday - Rag Bag

Welcome to another Fabric Friday!  I've been wanting to do a rag bag for awhile.  Especially after seeing my friend Anji of Altered Scraps make her rag bags.  Anji and I had inspired each other to sew when I first started using my sewing machine.  It's been fun seeing what projects we come up with.

For this project, I pretty much followed the video instructions from Angie.  Here is the finished bag.
I made side pockets!  For the pocket, I just folded the top scallops down and sewed across.  The inner piece uses the same technique I shared with my last Fabric Friday, where you fold the piece of fabric on the Scallop Square Big Shot die, to create a rectangular piece, rather than square.
I love this nice touch with the strap and button.
I didn't snip the edges of this bag, because I thought this actually looks kinda nice. :)  As soon as I started using this bag, I got 3 compliments within the first 2 hours.  Makes me very proud.  Go ahead, pick up some fabric and especially the Big Shot Scallop Square die (#115950) from MY STORE, and make this adorable bag!

Thank You for Teachers

As the school year draws to an end, this is what I made for my daughter's teachers.  This is CASE'd from Holly.  When I was making this (um... the day before they were given out... ahem), I could not find my Woodgrain background stamp.  So I didn't copy Holly's card exactly.   In any case, the apple is made from the now-retired Round Tab punch.  Oh, the sadness of it. *sniff, sniff*  The seeds are from the also-retired Triple Blossoms punch.  The Pencil is made from using Word Window punch.  I cut the letters using my electronic cutter, only because I don't have any alphabet dies for the Big Shot.  Would have been easier than to tinker with sizes and fonts on the electronic machine and wasting a few sheets of paper in the process.
This is an Easel Card turned on the side.  I simply put a gift card on the inside of the card.
To all my teacher friends and all the teachers out there... THANK YOU for teaching our children.  I don't know how you do it, but my child loves school, loves learning, and I am amazed at her progress in the last 9 months.  Can't wait to see what's in store for next year!

Special Saturday

Sorry for the lack of posts this week as I prepare for our big garage sale of retired stamps, wheels, and accessories.

To thank you for keep on coming back to check in with me, I have a special project to show you.  I was invited to a ladies luncheon the other day.  Everyone else was bringing a dish to share.  My culinary skills really only involves boiling water.  So I thought I'd bring what I can make the best... papercrafts!

I made this little double pouch bag for the hostess, using one sheet of 12x12.  You can find the instructions HERE.
Side view.  You can see how it has the folded mountain and valley and it stands.  I use a small piece of Sticky Strip in the center between the two pouches.
Here is what I made the other ladies, a Teabag Holder.  This was a super quick project.  I cannot figure out where I found the instructions.  So I will do a tutorial for you next week.  Hmm... could this be my very first video???  If there is more than 1 of you voting for video vs. pictorial, I will be brave and do it!  :D
 Here is the inside.
Thanks for coming.  I'll see you again next week!
