How do you like these colors together? I personally love how the In-Colors coordinate so well with each other. Kinda makes it a no-brainer when trying to put colors together. On the image itself, I didn't use any Stickles or Crystal Effects. What do you think? Maybe I should use some?

I love the use of the button and the twine. Gives the card a little pop, doesn't it?

birthday Bakery Week Day#4

Today's card is inspired by daotz on SplitcoastStampers.com I liked how she used this particular embossing folder, since I have the same one; but I didn't like it being white. So I decided to emboss a DSP to see if it's too busy. I also took my ink pad and ran it across the raised portions. Again, I remember from Mike Funke's comment to me in the past, "it's just paper." I figured if I didn't like the look, I could always just recycle the paper.
What do you think? How do you like this card? It's a pretty simple card again. But I didn't think this card needed more.

birthday Bakery Week Day#3

Today's card was a total CASE from Kathleen. This was such a quick card, yet so beautiful.
Have I told you how much I LOVE using the Big Shot? A quick crank through the machine with an embossing folder, and you have instant dimension to the card. This particular folder, Elegant Lines, leaves a bit of space un-embossed; which is perfect for stamping the sentiment.

The longest time this took was waiting for Stickles to dry; then the Crystal Effects to dry.

Just a note, wait for the whole thing to dry on the white CS, before adhering to your card. The white CS will likely curl a little bit, after it's dried. So if you put it on the card before it dries, the piece way seem warped.

birthday Bakery Week Day#2

Today's card was inspired by Sandi's card here. I say inspired, because I started out trying to CASE the card, but one thing led to another, it didn't turn out to be a CASE. So it's INSPIRED. :)
Toward the bottom of the card, I did the faux inlaid look with the hearts. Simple adhere the hearts onto the Blush Blossom CS, then put the whole thing through the Big Shot. Voila! Instant inlaid look!

For the cakes, I colored using the ink pads and blender pen. On top, I used Stickles for the glitter. Once that's dried, I put Crystal Effects on them.

Birthday Bakery Week Day#1

Happy New Year, everyone! How do you like my new blog design? I'm rather proud of it myself. I did it using My Digital Studio.

To start off the new year, I decided to do a daily post using Birthday Bakery set. It is a Level 1 Hostess set, which you can get for FREE by having a $150+ order. You can either contact me or go through my website HERE to place your order.

I also have A TON of birthday cards to make for January, so this is a good way to get me started.

I have seen many of these "awning" cards. I thought it's finally time I give it a try myself. The last card that I saw that pushed me to make the card is by Genny. I followed the tutorial she referenced, which is by Diana.

I colored using markers and also blender pen and ink pads. I added Crystal Effects on top. I think it makes the cakes look oh, so yummy! I sponged the edges of the sentiment, added the Decorative Label punch to the back. I cut the punched out piece in half horizontally, trimmed it, so that the piece is not so large compared to the sentiment one. Lastly I added brads. The whole thing is popped up with dimensionals.
