Thankful Week #1

With Thanksgiving around the corner, what better time than now to make some Thank You cards?
I wanted to take this moment to thank all of you for visiting me at my blog.  And to all of my customers.  And for all the friendships I've made since joining Stampin' Up!.  I won't get all sappy here.  I just want to let you all know that I appreciate everyone of you. :D

This card today is based on a layout I had done last year at this time, with updated color scheme.  What do you think?  I was especially happy to use Curly Cute for the sentiment.  I had resisted all last year to get it.  I finally broke down and bought it.  And I'm so glad I did!  I just love the curly cues.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Lovely as a Tree, Curly Cute
Ink: Early Espresso
Papers: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Pool Party, Festival of Prints Pack

Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop - September 2012

Hello and welcome to this month's installment of the Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop.  If you came from Shellie's Creative Electica blog, thank you for visiting me!  This month's theme is Fall and Back to School.  Boy, was I ever not ready for back-to-school this year.  It seems like this past summer just flew by.  We ended the summer with a fabulous trip to Hawaii, and it was very very hard getting ourselves back into the school routine.  The first project I will share with you is a fall-themed card.  It is certainly hard to think about fall and the upcoming holidays when it's still so nice out.  But you know it'll soon be upon us.
This card uses only two stamps, the leaf image is from the oldie-but-goodie Lovely as a Tree, which is now available in Clear-Mount (#127793) for CHEAPER!  The sentiment is from Word Play.  The colors are Cajun Craze and More Mustard.  I know you'll be asking for the dimension of the Cajun Craze piece.  It's 4" x 3 1/8".

The next project is a cute little thing that I've pinned for awhile.  Meant to get to it all summer, so I would be prepared for my daughter's teachers at preschool.  Well, it didn't happen.  I was making this AFTER school had started.  Oh well, I have to make 2 more for new teachers anyways, so I'll do those this weekend, and give them to the teachers on the first full week of school.  How's that for stretching? :D
The "face" is made with the Top Note die and different sized circle punches for the eyes and mouth.  The back is a simple 5"x5" piece, scored at 2" and 3" on one side; and 1" and 4" on the other.  I plan to put this little box with bite sized candies inside.  For those "teacher emergencies."

I hope you liked the projects here.  Your next stop is Pam.

Digital Christmas Lodge

I signed up on LeeAnn Greff's 12 Weeks of Christmas newsletter a couple of weeks ago.  For Week #3, it was a gorgeous card using Christmas Lodge stamp set and couple of other techniques.  I was completely smitten with this card that I had to replicate it.  The only problem is I DON'T HAVE CHRISTMAS LODGE!!!  Aaaaargh!  My Digital Studio comes to the rescue again!  This stamp set is available as a digital download (#125611).  Halelujah!  I printed the Lodge on River Rock and we're in business!  I really wanted to be able to print the big tree and the sentiment from the same set on the base layer.  But my printer does not allow printing all the way to the edge.  It would look kinda funny with a cut off tree, yet with a border, so I had to go without.  To improvise, I used the tall tree from Lovely as a Tree, and the sentiment from Four the Holidays.

Other cool things about this card.  I got to use my Texturez Plate.  I haven't used it in ages.  But it's a softer look than the embossing folders, since the impressions are not as deep.  Lastly, about that snow.  I simply followed LeeAnn's instructions.  First you use the Signo White GelPen to color in the snow.  Wait for it to dry.  Then I used Dazzling Diamond (glitter glue) all over the white.  Put it aside to dry.  That's it.  Isn't just a simple simple card for awesome effect?

Let me tell you another secret.  Since I was waiting for the Lodge piece to dry, I had put together the rest of the elements of the card.  Even without the Lodge piece, the rest of the card actually looks very elegant, too!  Super easy, easily reproducible for mass producing your holiday cards.  Just another option for ya!

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Christmas Lodge (MDS), Lovely as a Tree, Four the Holidays
Ink: River Rock, Bravo Burgundy
Papers: River Rock, Bravo Burgundy
Accessories: Texturz Plate, Crochet Trim ribbon, Signo white gelpen, Dazzling Diamond

Lovely Fall Tree

This card is CASE'd from Rita.  It also uses the Rock-n-Roll technique again.  I had this card as part of my recent Card Buffets.  The only difference is, I gave them Very Vanilla, instead of Whisper White to stamp on.  I think Very Vanilla works better here.  Anyways, isn't it a pretty card?  I must apologize for my use of non-Stampin' Up! sentiment here.  I was running low on supplies for the Card Buffets, and had to find a stamp and stamp set that didn't duplicate in all the other 15 buckets.  So, I pulled out this one from my personal stash to use.  I also forgo the small tags.  For the last couple of Buffets, I had used the Tiny Tags and Jewelry Tag punch quite a bit, so I didn't want to use it on yet another card.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Lovely as a Tree
Ink: More Mustard, Cajun Craze
Papers: More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Basic Gray, Lap of Luxury DSP (retired)
Accessories: Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder, Dotted Scallop Border punch, Basic Gray Stampin' Write marker, Basic Gray taffeta ribbon (retired)
