Easel 'Roo

This is one of the cards we made at our Fun Folds class.  This is a simple one to start with.  This is called an Easel card.  Can you believe I actually could not find a good tutorial for you?  I guess it must be that it's so simple, almost no explaining is needed.  Ok, I will try to give you some directions here.

1. Cut a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cs length-wise to 4 1/4 x 11.
2. Line the long side on the top of the paper trimmer.
3. Score at 5 1/2 and 2 3/4.
4. Cut another piece from the same cs to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.
5. Adhere this second piece to the first, on the section that is 2 3/4 x 4 1/4.  Just make sure that when folded, the card will be the regular A2/card size.
6. Decorate at will.  Just make sure you make a "stop" for the easel to stand up.

BTW, everything on this card, except for the cardstock is retiring.  Boo-hoo.  You only have a few more days to order the items I used on this card!

Does this card look familiar?

I had made one previously. This time it's for twin boys.

I also tried something I've been seeing in cyberspace. It's the "faux inlaid" look. I punched out these little hearts, glued them onto the cardstock. Then put the whole thing through Big Shot using my embossing folder. The result looks like the hearts are inlaid in the cardstock. Pretty neat, eh?

Thank You Kangaroo

I really like this kangaroo, so I decided to make another card. Believe it or not, I didn't copy this from anyone! :) I used the Big Shot to emboss the red and peach cardstock. Not quite sure if you can see it very well.
I just got some In-Color ribbon shares in the mail, and just couldn't wait to use them! Aren't these ribbons so cute? Also, this was the first time I used this Concord Crush color. Isn't it nice as a neutral?

New Baby

One of my cousins just had a brand new baby girl. I decided to break out this stamp set that I have barely used since I got it earlier this year. Isn't this just so sweet? I found the original card to CASE from here. Looks like she colored the image with a marker. I don't know how to do that well, so I sponged the edges instead. And I popped up the baby kangaroo with pop-dot.
I stamped a partial image of the mommy kangaroo on the envelope. Don't know if that looks weird. Oh well, too late now! :)
