Need for Speed

Our nephew turned 16 last week.  This is the card I made for him.  While making a card, I kept having to remind myself and chant, "less is more, no embellishments; less is more, no embellishments."  I  kept wanting to add more layers, stamp something else, etc.  In the end, I stuck to my mantra.
The background is a stamp from Clockworks.  I handcut the car from Need for Speed.  The embossed piece on the back is done by taping a piece of aluminum foil to cardstock, and ran through the big shot.

Need for Speed is on the to-be-retired list.  So, if you haven't gotten it, and have some teenagers in your life, this would make a great set.
My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Need for Speed, Clockworks

Betsy's Birthday

This card is inspired by Christyne.  I wanted to make a nice card for my aunt's birthday coming up.  It's not good to have so much white when you're talking about an Asian celebratory event.  So, I made the base in Rich Razzleberry; and embossed Lucky Limeade.  For the leaves I used Secret Garden stamp set, so I could use the framelit to cut them out.  I'm too lazy to fussy cut if I can avoid it.  I mean, I did cut the bird by hand.  That should be enough on one card, right? :)

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Betsy's Blossom, Secret Garden, Perfect Punches
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade
Papers: Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade
Accessories: Framed Tulips embossing folder, Secret Garden framelit, Itty Bitty punch pack, Basic Rhinestones

Dressing Up for Tea

A friend had called over the weekend to invite me to a Ladies Afternoon Tea function.  She is sponsoring a table.  After speaking with her, I immediately thought of using the Dress Up suite to make some invitations for her.  The variations in putting together the dresses was inspired by Patty.

I made a total of 10 cards.  Here's some different ways I embellished the dresses.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):

Mix Bunch for Mother

The original card idea came from Cindy.  However, for the life of me, I can't find the original card posting.  Anyways, when I saw her card, I knew what changes I wanted to make to it to make it a little more unique.  I made the card into a version of the "Joy Card."  This card was designed for a group of ladies who don't have much time.  I wanted the card to be beautiful, but also simple enough to do.  I have a couple of versions here, only because I wanted to see what paper combinations would look like.  I also used the Happy Birthday stamp from Perfect Punches set originally.  But the group leader wanted to use a stamp she already had, so I wanted to make sure it fit in the Extra Large Oval punch.
This is the side view of the card when it's opened up.  Pretty neat, huh?
