Workshop Project #2

Here's the second card we made at the workshop.  It was super easy to put together.  This card probably took less than 10 minutes per person.  Everyone LOVED working with the Big Shot.  The embossing is just so quick and so beautiful.  It really adds to the card.  If you haven't gotten yours yet, see the offer on THIS POST.
This card uses the Pun Fun set (again, I know!  It's just too versatile and too cute to not use it!)  I showed my attendees my set of Pun Fun valentine cards.  In addition, I showed another set of all-occasions Pun Fun cards, to let them see all the images and how versatile this set is.  Even with this color combination, I made another couple more.  I just can't stop myself!

P.S.  New My Digital Studio digital downloads available today!

Happy Mojo

I was originally inspired by this card by The Paper Addict.  The card was following Mojo Monday's sketch.  Here's the sketch.
I liked how she used the Flower, Daisy#2 die for the Big shot for the round element.  I bought my die awhile ago but hadn't used it yet.  This was a good chance to get it out to play.

And I was still on the Pun Fun kick, but didn't want to do another Valentine card, so I picked these happy colors.  The color choice came from my Sunny Garden DSP.  I found that when I need some good color combinations, I just have to look at my DSP packs.  Aren't these such happy colors?

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Pun Fun
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Pear Parfait
Papers: Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade Patterns DSP
Accessories: Poppy Parade 1/2" Stitched-Poly ribbon, Flower Designer Brad, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Flower Daisies #2 die, embossing folder (non-SU), silver brads (non-SU)

Baby Pun

Ok, so I can't stop using Pun Fun.  Hey, aren't you glad that I can get so much mileage out of this one stamp set??? :)  Today's card was CASE'd from CarrollAnn.  She CASE'd hers from someone else.  So it goes in the internet world, eh?
I paper-pieced the hippo using the In-Color patterns DSP.  The balloon got a touch of Stickles treatment, as did the sentiment.  Probably hard to see, but I was just trying to see it makes the sentiment stand out a little.  I used my small circle punch that I've had for ages and inserted just a corner into the punch to make it look like the Ticket punch.  I didn't have the balloon stamp like CarrollAnn's card.  So I just stamped the hippo in all different directions on the cardstock.

Sweet card, isn't it?  I think I will send this card to my cousin, who is expecting a girl in April.

P.S. New Digital Downloads today.  It includes the Top Note Die shape for only $0.95!!!  See HERE.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):

Pun Fun Week Day #6 - BONUS!

I wanted to use this stamp in the Pun Fun set, eventhough I couldn't come up with anything Valentine with it.  This image naturally lends itself to a boy card, in my opinion.  So I wanted some boy colors.  I came upon this color combination at Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge.  I love having all the colors a color challenge calls for.  I'm starting to build my collection with Stamin' Up!'s cardstock.  I really like these color cardstock.  They're made nice and sturdy.  And of course, you can't beat the color coordination with SU!'s colors.  I am just shocked at how well these colors go together.

I also used Sweet Sunday's sketch as inspiration.

OK, so I started off really trying to do the challenge adhering to the sketch.  However, it kind of took on its own life...

I started with using a Sizzix Bigz die that can make a scallop card.
I had these Top Note Die-like cutouts with my Cricut lying on my desk (eh, dining table).  So I thought I'd cut another one, smaller, with the DSP, and use the white as mat.  I used markers to color the image.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Pun Fun
Ink: Early Espresso
Papers: Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, Real Red
Accessories: Scallop Trim Edge Punch, Scallop Card Sizzix Bigz die (non-SU), embossing folder (non-SU), Crystal Effects (on card 1)

Pun Fun Week Day #5

Just got word that I will have a brand-new-to-stamping attendee at my workshop in a week.  Since I'm brainstorming some ideas for projects to make at the workshop, I decided to do a CAS (clean and simple) card, but with some wow.  Of course, I go to my trusty Big Shot for the easy and wow.
Initially I designed the card to have all the components straight and squared up.  But by moving my hand a little by accident, I thought the diamond looks nice.  I thought it looks like it's more work than straight in the center.  And what could be easier as embellishment than a nice ribbon?

Do you think it looks like a card that someone could have spent more than 5 minutes putting it together?  Because it's literally such an easy card, after the pieces are cut, to put together.  Hopefully this will impress my new stamper!

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Pun Fun
Ink: Basic Gray
Papers: Pretty in Pink, Basic Gray
Accessories: Basic Gray 3/8" Taffeta ribbon (retired), embossing folder (non-SU)

Pun Fun Week Day #4

Yeah, we have a non-CASE'd card today.  At least I don't think I CASE'd this from anyone.  I did see someone using this combination of images though.  Aren't they cute together?
I popped up their heads to give a little dimension.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Pun Fun, A Word for You
Ink: Poppy Parade, Soft Suede
Papers: Poppy Parade, Soft Suede, In-Color DSP
Accessories: Poppy Parade Poly-Stitch ribbon

Pun Fun Week Day #3

Today's card uses color combination from Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo #83.  Isn't it so soft and sweet?  I have never used Crumb Cake before.  I have it in my New Color Kit.  So I took it out to try.  I don't know how I feel about it.  But I think it may become a good neutral for me.  I have to play with it more to find out.  I also used Trish's card to CASE.
You know what's a surprise here?  I didn't use Modern Label Punch with my Word Window Punch.  I know, shocking, isn't it?

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Pun Fun, Teeny, Tiny Wishes
Ink: Crumb Cake
Papers: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Word Window punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Perfect Details Texturz Plate, Pretty in Pink Stripe ribbon (retired), Flower embellie (no idea where it came from.  Might have fallen off a shirt or dress!)

Pun Fun Week Day #2

Today's card is CASE'd from Patti.  Ilike that the main image is off-set to allow these punched hearts.
I was going to use a piece of DSP, instead of the Real Red CS.  But I forgot.  So I used Versamark to stamp the lamb (ewe) all over the CS, for a little self-designed pattern.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Pun Fun, Picture This (retired)
Ink: Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Versamark
Papers: Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Two-Step Owl punch (for hearts), Chocolate Chip 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon, Basic Pearl

Pun Fun Week Day #1

This week I have decided to bring out a stamp set that I bought just about exactly a year ago, PUN FUN.  I was in my late stages of pregnancy this time last year, and I decided to go back to stamping and making cards, after a long long, very lonnnnnng hiatus.  Making cards relaxes me and brings a smile to my face.  As you fellow card makers know, making cards gives a relatively instant gratification with a finished project in one sitting.  So, in honor of my one-year return to stamping and card making, let's have a week of cards made with Pun Fun.  This is still a current set from Stampin' Up! which you can purchase through my website HERE.  Oh, and to make it more interesting, I'm making Valentine's Day cards with this set.

This set of cards are CASE'd from Jill Hilliard.  Please see her post HERE.

I hand cut the lamb; paper-pieced the snout and heart.  I sponged the Old Olive pieces to make it more dimensional.  I popped up the lamb and the sentiment.
My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Pun Fun, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Papers: Real Red, Old Olive, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Big Shot, Embossing Folder, Scallop Edge Punch, Pearl Gel-Pen (non-SU)

I used the "masking" technique and Stamp-a-majig to stack these coffee cups.  I tied the ribbon a little differently on this card than my usual knot.  Can you tell the difference?

I made another version of this card.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Pun Fun, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink
Papers: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Certainly Celery patterns DSP (retired), Sending Love DSP (retired)
Accessories: Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Pretty in Pink striped ribbon (retired), Stamp-a-majig, Big Shot, Embossing folder, Scallop Edge Punch, Stickles (non-SU), Liquid Pearl (non-SU)

I put a long strip of sticky tape on the back of the ribbon, then scrunched them to get this effect.  I think next time maybe I'll put the tape on the paper instead and see what happens.  I'll let you know!

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Pun Fun, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Poppy Parade, Soft Suede
Papers: Soft Suede, Poppy Parade, Sunny Garden DSP
Accessories: Decorative Label Punch, Poppy Parade Poly-Stitched ribbon

Pun Fun

For today's card, I found my inspiration from Jill's Card Creations. But somehow my cards are not quite what I see from Jill's blog. Hmm.... I think in my effort to create some quick, yet different looking cards, they ended up being of the same layout. Not quite what I see from my inspiration.

In any case, I tried to do something different with each one. I used the corner rounder punch and ribbon for the coffee cup card; my new-found "ticket corner" punch for the hippo card; scalloped trim border punch for the skunk card; and scallop border punch and eyelets for the rocket card. I used glitter on each card.

Oh, the pattern paper is from the Glitter Stack from DCWV. Isn't it so cute? It's my second favorite after the brown and pink circles I had earlier.

Scrap Thank-Yous

I have recently sold some stuff online, and wanted to include a little thank-you note to each of my buyers. I was inspired by this post by Rhonda Griffin, and also a post on a message board on SplitcoastStampers.com about using scraps, so this was what I came up with.

I have so many of these little scrap pieces that I just hate to throw away. They turned out just perfect for my little 3 1/4" square notecards. A quick stamp and popped up the center piece, I was done. Quickest cards ever!

I did ink the edge of the center CS. With the mouse, I accidentally touched the ink pad, so I decided to do just a little more. I actually like this rustic kind of look.

Shutter Card

An acquaintance has graciously given me a whole bunch of colored envelopes. I decided she needed to have a really special Thank You card from me. I love how the Tri-Shutter cards look. They're super easy to make. But do take quite awhile to embellish (well, if you had no idea what you wanted to do, then it'll take 2 days, like it did me. Ha!).

This is how it looks when it opens. Isn't it cool? You can see the tutorial here. My original inspiration was from Karen at Inky Images. Then more recently, this one by Adorable Annagrams.

Remember this pattern paper? I just absolutely LOVE this paper. It's got such great colors and fun pattern. I'll be so sad when I use up the two sheets that come in the paper pack. Maybe I'll have to create something with it and hang it on my wall. Hahaha. Anyways, the skunk was cut using Create a Critter by Cricut. The stamped sheep and the sentiment on top are from SU's Pun Fun stamp set.

Pun Fun - More

Here's those cards in more detail. The first one, the brown cardstock has the big wheel with Versamark. The cat's tail has a little flower sticker on it. The hippo's balloon and bowtie have the crystal glaze on them. I stamped the Sheep twice and cut out the little arm with heart to pop it up.

The second card, the mouse's flower is a cut out from something else and I used a silver brad to attach it to the stamped image. The sheep's heart again is poped up and the elephant's balloon and bowtie have crystal glaze.

I love how this last card turned out. I used the Big Shot on the brown cardstock for some embossing and texture. I put glitter on the coffee and different parts of the coffee cup. Lastly I put crystal glaze on the hearts.

For all these cards I stamped the front of the envelop with a little image, then I ran the envelop flap thru the Big Shot and used the big wheel on the bottom of the back of the envelop. Now that I'm looking at it, it might be too busy. Sorry I don't have a picture of it.... too lazy to do it now. But maybe next time I'll just do one effect or the other, not both.

Pun Fun

OMG, I had so much fun creating these. Love this stamp set. I also love this paper from DCWV. Such beautiful colors. Don't they just brighten up your day? I'm also very proud of this little tote project that I made to house these 3 cards with envelopes.

I used the big wheel with Versamark to create some interest on this tote.

The tote is totally easy to make. Take a 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock, score 1" in from both sides on the long sides. Then turn it, score a 1" secion in the middle of the shorter side. Snip (not totally cut away) the little flaps in the middle of the long sides, down that 1" score line. Fold up and tape. Use another cardstock to create the cover. I punched eyelets on both sides to thread the ribbon through. You can also punch the eyelets on the top. Totally versatile. You can change up the size as you need.

ETA: Original inspiration came from Inking Idaho.
