Ornament Flurries

For the holidays, I just love using Northern Flurry embossing folder.  I keep trying to do something different with each card that uses this folder.  This time, I used the Holiday Ornament Framelit and backed the opening with a piece of DSP from Festival of Prints stack.  I topped it off with a piece of Champagne Glimmer paper cut using Labels Framelit, and rough handcut of the sentiment on top.  I also popped the Island Indigo piece up with Dimensionals.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Greetings of the Season
Ink: Island Indigo
Papers: Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Festival of Prints DSP Stack, Champagne Glimmer paper
Accessories: Northern Flurry embossing folder, Holiday Ornament framelit, Labels framelit, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details

Non-Traditional Colors

Today's card is inspired by Jenn.  I wanted to use some non-traditional colors and see how it would look.  This is what mine turned out like.  I used Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake and Certainly Celery.  What do you think?  I thought this turned out rather well, considering I basically took Not Quite Navy and held it up to my cardstock collection until I landed on a color that I thought would work.  That is what I love about Stampin' Up! products.  Just about any color combination will work, they all just coordinate beautifully.

Anyways, the ornament I used here is from Tags 'til Christmas set.  I punched it out using the Ornament punch.  What did I tell you before?  I LOVE using coordinated punches and framelits with our stamps!

The last little touch I did was using Color Spritzer Tool to add some splotches of color behind the sentiment.

Oh oh oh!  Forgot to mention, I don't own any First Edition DSP that the original card used.  So I went to my trusty MDS and printed out a small piece.  Isn't that brilliant?  MDS2 is still on sale at 50% off today.  If you don't own it yet, get it!  It will be one of the best things you spend your money on this season!

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Tags 'til Christmas, More Merry Messages
Ink: Not Quite Navy
Papers: Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, First Edition DSP (MDS version)
Accessories: Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder, Ornament punch, Not Quite Navy Taffeta ribbon, Basic Rhinestone

Official Start of Holidays!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!  Thank you for visiting my blog.  I am so glad you're here, because I am now embarking on a new course to show you some fabulous holiday cards.  Today's card is CASE'd from Kim.

I don't know exactly what struck me with Kim's card.  Was it the Glimmer paper?  Was it the color combination?  Was it the layout?  Whatever it was, I could not get this picture out of my mind until I made my own.  I don't have any silver cord lying around, so I took something off of a commercial card given to me more than 10 years ago and upcycled it.

The main images here is called Ornament Keepsakes.  It has coordinating Framelits, so that it's easy to cut the different sized ornaments.  And if you get both together, you get a 15% discount off the bundle! Isn't that so cool?  I love using stamps and coordinating framelits or punches.  Makes cardmaking so much easier!
My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Ornament Keepsakes, Greetings of the Season
Ink: Rose Red, Basic Gray
Papers: Basic Gray, Silver Glimmer Paper, Neutrals Paper Stack
Accessories: Holiday Ornaments Framelits, Rose Red Seam Binding ribbon, Designer Button
