Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop March 2013

Yay!  It's another installment of our Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop.  This month's theme is Renewal.  We're celebrating birthdays, Easter and spring.  If you have come from Shellie's blog, welcome!  Doesn't Shellie always make the best stuff???

As for me, I just received my order of Best of Flowers stamp set.  This is part of Stampin' Up!'s Best of 25 Years Stamps series.  I thought what better way to showcase spring and renewal/rebirth than flowers and this particular stamp set.  Because what is old is now new again!

This first one uses the image that's a spray of roses.  I heard this is from a retired set called, Gentler Times.  I paired this stamp with one of my new favorite DSPs, Tea for Two, and the new stamp set and punch from Sale-a-Bration.  To show you  how much love I've got for my readers and for this blog hop, I hand fussycut all 3 stamped images.  Can you believe that?  Imagine the time that took. LOL.

This next project uses another stamp out of the Best of Flowers set.  The image is from retired Upsy Daisy.  In full disclosure, the new stamp is sized much smaller than the original.

In this card, I paired the new smaller Upsy Daisy with the original Upsy Daisy.  This layout is based on a fellow demonstrator friend's recommendation.  I think this card turned out really cute.  I debated whether to show you a retired stamp.  But since the theme is renewal and rebirth, I figured it's fitting.  Plus, I hope many of you already have the original set, and I've inspired you to bring it out and play with it once more.

Good morning, everyone!  Well, it seems I am unable to let go of Upsy Daisy. :p  Look what I've got to show you today.

I love the simplicity of this card.  I especially love how the image is tilted.  Another happy accident on my table.

Mother's Day Bunch

Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day yesterday.  I wanted to share with you one of the cards I made for the occasion.  This one is CASE'd from Cari.  I am using the retiring Flirtatious DSP.  It's currently being offered at 25% off, at $9.71!

I decided to put a little clear Bitty Button on the center of my flower.

How do you like my photography angle here?  I took inspiration from the new 2012-2013 Annual Catalog. ;)

I thought this was a great simple layout, I made another for Birthday.

Auld Lang Syne: Upsy Daisy

I am going to do some cards for the rest of the month as tribute to some of the retiring stamps and other products.  Today's card is made with Upsy Daisy.

I had lusted after this set for quite awhile when I got back into stampin' and Stampin' Up! world.  As soon as I signed up as a demo and could order products at a discount, this was one of the first sets I got.  I still really love the image.  I'm sad that it's leaving us, but I'm hopeful that there's going to be plenty more flower sets in the new catalog.

This card is made with one of my favorite color combinations: Concord Crush and Wisteria Wonder.  You've seen me do this before, I inked up the stamp well, stamped once on Whisper White.  Without reinking, I stamped it again, but off to the side a little bit.  I just love this look.

Hard to tell, but the cardstock behind the ribbon is run through the Tasteful Trim die with the big scallops.

So long, Upsy Daisy.   I will miss you at my workshops and classes.

Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop: May 2012

Hello and welcome to this month's installment of the Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop.  If you came from Shellie's Creative Electica blog, thank you for visiting me!  This month's themes are Mother's Day, Kids and/or Friendship.  I have a project for each of these themes.  I hope you'll like what I have for you.  And please, give my blogpost some love with your kind comments!

The first card is for Mother's Day coming up.  Using the retiring 2010-2012 In-Colors, my card was inspired by ?  I am so sorry... I can't find it!  Anyways, I had made some changes and here is my version.  I used a lot of retiring products on here: the In-Color papers, Ticket Corner punch, ribbon, embossing folder.  Yes, this particular folder is the ONLY embossing folder to be retired.  Can you see me

This next card is inspired by my newest downline (Hi, Bronwen!).  Before Bronwen decided to take advantage of the awesome new $99 Starter Kit, she had ordered a Word Window punch from me, in order to make spinner cards.  She even emailed me her fabulous cards.  That got me thinking that I really should do one myself.  So, I dug out the tutorial I had saved from quite awhile ago HERE.  Two more items to be retired here: Fox and Friends ( ) and On Your Birthday.

This last project is a fun-fold.  It's a double-pocket.  You can find the tutorial HERE.  Here is the front. I used Top Note die.  For the Whisper White and DSP pieces, I used my paper snips and cut along the perforation so that they will layer nicely with the Peach Parfait piece underneath.  I used retiring Upsy Daisy () stamp set here.

Inside, you see how it's a double-pocket.

I used Two Tags die to create 2 simple bookmarks.  Since they're bookmarks, I didn't want to create too much dimension and ruin someone's book, so all pieces are flat.

Retiring items here are the Chantilly Crochet Trim ribbon (), Triple Treat Flower stamp (), 5-Petal Flower punch (), and the already-retired Punch Bunch from Sale-a-Bration 2011.

Masculine Mocha Birthday

Since it's Presidents' Day, I figured a masculine birthday card would fit the bill.  This card was originally inspired by Kards by Kadie.  Once again, one thing led to another, and now my card doesn't look like hers at all. :)
