Thoughts & Prayers (Extra Long) Week #5

Thanks for sticking with me. :)  This card concludes my Thoughts & Prayers series.  This is a simple card that can easily be a happy card, by simply swapping out the sentiments.  The stamped flowers behind the sentiments were inked up with Rose Red.  Stamped off once on scratch paper, so it is a lighter shade.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Thoughts and Prayers
Ink: Rose Red, Chocolate Chip
Papers: Rose Red
Accessories: Labels Framelits, Rose Red Seam Binding ribbon, Elegant Bouquet embossing folder

Thoughts & Prayers (Extra Long) Week #4

See, I told you I had more cards using this set.  Isn't this a beautifully serene card?  I wanted to showcase the vase punchart on this card.  Do you know what punch I used for this vase?  It's the Ornament punch with the pointy end cut off.  I then embossed the vase in Fancy Fan embossing folder. Added Dazzling Diamond on top, just to give it a little shine.  Topped off with some Basic Rhinestones.

The branch is first stamped in Early Espresso.  Then I used my Blender Pen, "erased" the flowers, and used a Baja Breeze marker to color the flowers.  Give the entire stamp a little huff before stamping, and voila!  Beautiful branch with flowers.

This card can really be any occasion you want it to be.  Just change up the sentiment.  I stuck with Thoughts & Prayers, since that's what I'm featuring, but I think this design can be great for an elegant birthday card, too, don't you think?

Thoughts & Prayers Week #2

I love the simplicity of this card.  You might want to try it in black and white.  I have an aversion to black, so I used Basic Gray.  This is CASE'd from Deb.  Since I love using Dimensionals, the Top Note piece is popped up from the card base to give a bit of dimension.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Thoughts and Prayers
Ink: Basic Gray
Papers: Basic Gray, Neutrals Paper Stack in Basic Gray
Accessories: Top Note die, Adorning Accents Edgelit, Itty Bitty punch pack, Basic Pearl, Night of Navy Taffeta ribbon (I didn't have any current Basic Gray ribbons)

Thoughts & Prayers Week #1

Good Monday, erh, Tuesday morning to you!  Where has time gone???  Thank you for coming to visit me today.  This week I will be showing you cards we made at one of my recent Simple and Beautiful classes.  During this class, our members asked specifically for sympathy cards using Thoughts and Prayers, and I was happy to oblige.  Thoughts and Prayers had been out for awhile and was always wood-mounted only.  UNTIL this catalog year, when SU decided to make all current sets available in both wood and clear (WM#113252 $25.95, CM#127805 $18.95).  So, not only is this set beautiful, it is now even more affordable.

I CASE'd this card from Dawn.  I didn't have the pattern paper that she used, so I went and created my own.  I used a piece of Marina Mist card stock, and just used Versamark inkpad and stamped the same flower branch image at various angles.  It gives a nice subtle look, don't you think?  I love this little technique in creating a background that is not overpowering.  The scallop circle is cut using the big circle from the Perfect Pennants Big Shot die; and the 2 circles on top are cut with 2 1/2 inch circle punch.  You can also use the Circles #2 die, if you don't have the punch.  You just have to cut out the circles before stamping.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Thoughts and Prayers
Ink: Midnight Muse, Marina Mist, Versamark
Papers: Midnight Muse, Marina Mist
Accessories: Midnight Muse Stitched Satin ribbon, Perfect Pennants die, 2 1/2" circle punch, Basic Pearls
