Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop July 2013

Woo-hoo!  It's a celebration of birthdays for this month!  Either you came from Diana's blog, or starting from here, come along with us, and you are sure to be treated with some great eye candy.

For this month's hop, I really wanted to do something fun and a bit unique.  I have had the Dress Form and the Card Base Pop 'n Cuts for awhile, but never tried them.  I was inspired by the creator, Karen Burniston's video on using this great die.

I used so many products that it would be difficult to list everything.  But for the main part, I used Oh Hello and Make a Cake stamp sets.  Gingham Garden DSP.  Main cardstock colors are Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo.  Oval Framelits, Dress Form & Card Base Pop 'n Cuts.  I love using this die to create a 3-D card that can be mailed.

And did you catch what I've got on the inside of this card?  It's Stampin' Up!'s 25th Anniversary this year.  And I'm going to the annual Convention with 5499 other demonstrators!  I'm so looking forward to the party that is sure to rock the house.  If you want some inside scoop while I'm there, I will be posting to my Facebook Fan Page.  If you're not a fan, please Like Me, so that you can follow my first-ever SU Convention Coverage!

For now, I will send you onto Jamie to discover what cool project she has in store for you!

Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop July 2012

Hello and welcome to this month's installment of the Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop.  If you came from Shellie's Creative Electica blog, thank you for visiting me!  This month's themes are America/Canada Birthday.  I hope you'll like what I have for you.  And please, give my blogpost some love with your kind comments!

I have made a gift set this time.  It consist of a card, a post-it note holder (or snack-size chocolate holder), and a bookmark.  All packaged together and housed inside a card holder.  The whole thing is held closed with a piece of Designer Fabric.

These gift items are all made with Comfort Cafe DSP and Make a Cake and Itty Bitty Banners sets.  I did a fair amount of paper piecing this time, just because I wanted the cakes to be "decorated."  The embossing folder is a new one from the Annual Catalog, called Argyle.  The scallop square mat you see behind the cake is a cut out from the Perfect Pennants Big Shot die.  The sentiment is cut using the Banners Framelit.
You can find the tutorial for this Post-It Note Holder HERE.  My dimensions are a bit different than in the tutorial.  My finished size is 3 1/4 x 3 1/4.  I started with a piece that is 3 1/4" x 7 1/2".  Using Simply Scored board, I scored at 1/2", 4", 4 1/2".
This bookmark is cut using one of my all-time favorite Big Shot dies, Two Tags die.  If you don't have it, you should seriously consider getting it.  It's a very versatile die.  I apologize that in this photo the bookmark looks a bit wonky.  I don't know why, I'm really sorry about that.
There you have it.  My submission for this month's blog hop.  I hope you liked what you saw here.  Oh!  I didn't get a chance to do a tutorial on the card holder here.  I will get to it, I promise.  When I was putting it together, I had to figure out the dimensions myself.  I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for in cyberspace.  So I will share those with you very shortly.  Really, I promise.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please visit Pam at the next stop to see what super awesome projects she's got this month!

2012 Annual Catalog Sneak Peek!

Did ya miss me?  LOL.  Sorry for a bit of delay and lack of posts this week.  I waited up for the release of the brand new Annual Catalog online just for Demonstrators on Sunday night.  Spent quite a bit of time into the wee hours of morning glancing quickly at the catalog and placing my pre-order.  Then I spent the next couple of days trying to catch up on sleep.  But those darn kids kept me busy!  And now guess what?  My order came yesterday!  I got the new In-Colors... wait till you see them.  Quite yummy!  AND, the stamp pads have been re-configured to use a firm foam pad, rather than a felt pad.  Gosh, these inks stamp sooooo nicely!  When we are able, after June 1st, I will show them to you.  I also got a couple of stamp sets, new framelit, ribbon, and pattern paper.  I didn't order everything that I could on the pre-order, because I'll have plenty of time for the rest of the year to keep adding to my stash, right?  Just want to pace myself.

SOOOOO..... since you were so patient in waiting for my post this week, I will show you what I made with my new goodies!
I hope this card shows up okay on the blog.  I took the picture at night, so the light is not the best.  OK, are you ready?  I mixed the new with some existing stuff and a retiring product.  Can you tell which is which?  I CASE'd this card from the new catalog.  I used a couple of new colors: Midnight Muse,  Primrose Petals, and Summer Starfruit.  The cake stamp set is called Make a Cake.  The sentiment is from a separate set called, Itty Bitty Banners.  I used a new Banner Framelit.  The pattern paper is called, "Patio Party."

Did you figure out what's the retiring product?  It's the Texturz plate on the Baja Breeze pieces.  The original card uses an embossing folder that we can't order yet, so I thought I'd use something that's not going to be available after this month.
