Sunny Aviary

I've been feeling a bit of low energy lately.  Probably because my husband's out of the country; I have a toddler who may be losing her naps altogether; and the baby is probably transitioning from 2 naps to 1 nap a day.  This all make for a very tired mamma who, has the best intentions of creating cards, just doesn't have the energy to get stuff out to play with.  I've decided to change that by doing a few challenges this week.  The A La Card Monkey Nature-themed challenge got the gears in my brain cranking again.  I have some rough ideas for some cards.  But when I saw THIS challenge from Taylored Expressions, I thought it was very cute.  I thought of my Aviary set right away.

I thought what DSP that I have could work with Aviary, that would be Nature themed?  I thought of Sunny Garden immediately.  I just LOVE this DSP pack.  It's so bright and fabulous!  I can't help but lift my spirits when I see it.

Without much further ado, this is the card that I made.
I popped up the owl with a Dimensional, just to set it apart from the birds.  I used my Stampin' Write marker to just color in the "hello" sentiment from "hello baby" of Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  I also did a quick sponging effect around the circles to give them further dimension.

And you know what?  It's another Nature-themed card.  So I've submitted to A La Card Monkey challenge again! :)

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Aviary, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz
Papers: Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait, Sunny Garden DSP
Accessories: Jewelry tag punch, 1" Circle punch, Peach Parfait Stitched-Poly ribbon

Hey Annie...
Thank you for taking the time out to make a card for A La Card Monkey Our Very First Challenge. If you could just add a link to your post to our blog that would be great.

Love your card!

BTW - I do home childcare in my hometown so can appreciate the PANIC of the thought of children giving up their afternoon nap ... because I have five kids of varied ages we have a 'everyone has a quiet time' rule here - so I do not care if you NAP but you are expected to lie quietly for an hour and rest ... good for them and me so I can get a mental break in my 10 hour day ... so when they hit that sleep time resistence stage around 2.5 and 'think' they do not need a nap they still 'rest' and they always get back into the groove of sleeping during that time - in fact today 4 out of 5 are still napping and I am going to have to wake them up momentarily ;)

Good luck with the sleep resistance on your end!
