Petal Cone 4 Ways

HappyValentine's Day, everyone!!!  Hope you and yours have a fabulous date today!
I got "talked" into purchasing this Petal Cone die for the Big Shot from Stampin' Up!  I said "talked" because it's via the splitcoaststampers.com message board that I was enabled to get this, after seeing various ways of using this die.  This die is quite versatile, as you can see below.  Please note that none of these are my original ideas.  I have seen these made on various blogs and decided to give them a try.

We made this first project for my first workshop as a demonstrator.  Super simple.  We ran the cardstock through the Big Shot couple of times; ran the half scallops through a couple of times (2 pieces at a time).  We then used the Lots of Love letterpress plate, inked with Versamark, for the body of the cone.  Cut out the heart using Glimmer Paper.  Stamped the greeting.  Taped everything together.  That's it!  I was a little apprehensive using the Letterpress plate at first, because I had heard some mixed reviews.  But my review is a resounding, MUST GET!  So easy and so beautiful!
One thing about the Petal Cone die.  I had seen on the 'net with people recommending using the Crease pad, instead of the cutting pad on top, so you don't cut through the score lines.  OK, I apparently didn't understand the instruction very well.  So I put my cutting plate ON TOP of the crease pad.  Guess what happens when you do that???  My crease pad was cut through, in the shapes of the Petal Cone die!  Aaargh!  It was kind of funny, actually.  But now I have to order myself another crease pad.  D'oh!

These other projects below are also made with the Petal Cone die.  I displayed these for my attendees to see what else you could do with it.  I used Sunny Garden DSP for this one.  After the main pieces were cut, there's no need for embellishing, since the paper is so pretty.  I cut out these little hearts and put them on each of the petals.  I printed this stamp from My Digital Studio, rounded the corners, and mounted on the Decorative Label punch cutout.
Aren't these ice cream cones so cute?  I have also seen various bloggers make these.  But I copied after Barb (my upline!) for this particular one.  I would have used the Perfect Details Texturz Plate.  Except, as I alluded to earlier, my crease pad was out of commission.  So I used a non-SU embossing folder.  And that's because I hadn't gotten my Square Lattice folder yet.  Topped with Glimmer Paper.  Hehehe.  Do you think I like this paper???
Lastly, please excuse the very amateurish looking box here.  I was just playing to see how the box is made.  Then I saw THIS ONE by Holly.
