Oh, Hello!

Did you miss me?  I love the springy colors in Floral District DSP.  Had a bit more still in my package, so I decided to use it up before it officially retires at the end of the month.  This card uses the same layout as the card I shared HERE.  I just changed up the colors and papers.  Voila!  New card. :)

Baby Tees

Look, another baby card.  And woo-hoo!  I have a non-retiring stamp.  Well, wheel, really.  This is the Baby Tees wheel.  You know, I can never get it to roll straight no matter what I try.  So I use my craft knife and cut carefully along the rubber seam, then peel the rubber right off the wheel.  Then I use it as a stamp!  Clever, isn't it?  And if you're really good with your craft knife, you could even cut the tees into each individual stamp, if you wish.

Anyways, this is such a cute stamp.  I really should use it more for baby cards.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Baby Tees (wheel), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Summer Starfruit
Papers: Summer Starfruit, Patio Party DSP
Accessories: Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin ribbon, Scallop Oval punch, Oval punch

Retiring Buddies

Can you believe most of what I used on this card is retiring?  Oh, I just want to cry!  I cannot stand the thought that the adorable Button Buddies is retiring already.  This is a super simple card.  I stamped the flower image from the set in 3 diferetn retiring colors, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, and More Mustard, and punched them out with the coordinating 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch.  The sentiment is also from the retiring set, A Word for You.  Oh!  The card base is River Rock, which is also retiring.  I guess the only thing not retiring is the Framed Tulips embossing folder.  Which is quite a relief!

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Button Buddies, A Word for You
Ink: Baja Breeze, Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard
Papers: River Rock
Accessories: Framed Tulips embossing folder, Scallop Circle punch

Springtime Skirts!

I have been wanting to learn how to make skirts for quite awhile.  In fact, I have pinned so many tutorials for adults and children on my Pinterest board, hoping that one day I would be brave enough to try.  Well, I finally got the push I needed.  I begged a friend to show me how to make the easiest skirt she can find.  I even brought my own sewing machine to her house to have my lesson.  Well, the time certainly was not wasted.  I learned some tips and I came home and gave it a try.  The first skirt I ever made actually didn't fit.  But that didn't deter me.  I tried it again.  This time I threw away the pattern and just tried to make something that would fit through my hips and sit at my waist.  It worked.  But it needed lining, as the material was a bit see-through.  So next I decided to get into my stash of SU fabrics that were on clearance awhile ago.  I know, my friend is cringing now, as she told me not to use 100% cotton.  Since I'm just a novice at this, this was a price point I can live with, if it didn't work out.  I pre-washed the fabric.  Trimmed off all the loose threads.  Ironed.  Cut the fat quarters in half, lengthwise.  And I went to the sewing machine.

For the first skirt above, I just put together the long pieces, sewed them into a tube.
For the bottom skirt here, I used the left overs and laid them horizontally.
Although I didn't exactly follow any tutorials, if you need one, HERE's a pretty good simple one.

Hello Postage

This card is inspired from something I saw in the new catalog that you'll be receiving very soon.  (Contact me if you wish to get a copy and do not have an established relationship with another demonstrator.)  I just love this stamp set, and am so happy that it appeared in the new catalog again.  The Hello sentiment is from the set, My Friend, which is also coming back.  Phew!  What is retiring is the Bravo Burgundy cardstock and ink that I used here.  Along with the Dotted Scallop ribbon.

Stamp Set(s): Postage Due, My Friend
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Pumpkin Pie
