Elegant Snowflakes

I started out intending to make this card by CASE'ing Dawn.  Yet another instance where I end up making something a bit different from the card that originally inspired me.  I seriously was going to make the exact same card.  But of course I didn't look at the picture closely enough, and one thing led to another (how many times have you heard me say this? LOL), this is the result.

A couple of tips here.  I know some of you may have trouble adhering cardstock to Glimmer Paper.  I know I did.  The MonoAdhesive (green/white bottle of liquid glue) worked for me.  Though, you do have to put a little pressure on it before the glue dries.

The other tip is how to cut the shape for the sentiment.  I used a framelit from Apothecary Accents collection.  However, it's a bit big.  So I cut it once, then ran it through the Big Shot again moving the paper and framelit to make it a little smaller.

Last tip is, if you're going to make a bunch of these cards and hate applying those tiny punched pieces, you can use a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet on the back of the Glimmer Paper.  Then after you punch out the pieces, you can just peel off the backing and adhere as if they are stickers.  Such time saver!

Be Merry, Be Blue

Yowzers, the days are sure movin' fast in December!  Today's card is CASE'd from Selene.  I love using blue for holiday cards.  In this case, it's Marina Mist and Baja Breeze.  I don't have the snowflake die that Selene used, so I used the small ornament punch from the new Merry Mini punch pack for the center of the snowflake.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Mixed Bunch, More Merry Messages
Ink: Marina Mist
Papers: Marina Mist, Baja Breeze, Silver Glimmer paper
Accessories: Northern Flurry embossing folder, Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta ribbon, Blossom punch, Merry Mini punch pack, Dazzling Details, Designer button

Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop December 2012

It's time for our monthly Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop again!  It's hard to believe the year is drawing to a close.  We have some fabulous projects to show you this month.  Please hop along all the stops to see what all the fabulous ideas we have for you.  And better yet, please kindly leave us some love with your comments.  We LOVE seeing comments on our posts!

This month's theme is Holiday.  This is what I made.
I followed the directions (with modifications) from HERE.  I'll write up what I did in the next couple of days.  I took pictures, but need to make it coherent for you to follow. :)

Personally, I love hot cocoa, especially during winter time.  So I thought making a small giftbox that fits the cocoa packets is the perfect little gift for a neighbor or a good friend.  I coupled it with a 4"x4" card.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Scentsational Bundle
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
Papers: Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Accessories: Simply Scored, 1" circle punch, Scentsational framelits

P.S. Thanks to Jennifer, who let me use her stamps and framelit for this project! :)

Hope you liked this project.  Please continue to the next blog with Pam.
