Popsicle

Happy Monday!  Well, it finally hit over 80 degrees here in Seattle.  I know the rest of the country is practically melting away, and I should be thankful that summer had NOT arrived yet until this weekend. Anyways, seems fitting that I should have a popsicle card for this occasion.  I've seen many bloggers make these super easy popsicles.  I haven't the slightest clue whose I saw last that prompted me to do this.  Take a piece of rectangular cardstock, round off the corders, then chomp off one corner with the scallop circle punch.  For the stick, I just used Word Window punch.  Later I realized I could have probably stamped it with my woodgrain background stamp to make it look even more realistic.

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Happy Greetings
Ink: Early Espresso
Papers:  So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Just Add Cake DSP
Accessories: Corner Rounder, Scallop Circle punch, Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon

In-Color Butterflies

How sweet is this?  I was very proud of myself.  This is NOT a card.  Wanna guess what it is???  It's an SU! background stamp woodblock covered with Mocha Morning DSP!  This was inspired by Renee.  I wanted to showcase the 5 new in-colors at my Open House.  When I saw Renee's awesome creation, I wanted to do something similar.  When I was done making the butterflies, I needed to find a DSP that had a neutral color background to show off the new colors.  Mocha Morning is the perfect solution!  I think you will have to read about how much I love this DSP pack for the whole next year!  I just absolutely love the papers in there.  Lastly, I also wanted to show off couple of the new in-color ribbons that I got.  So there.  Everything went on the block and turned out so cute!

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): None
Ink: None
Papers:  Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Mocha Morning DSP

Pinwheel

I couldn't resist the temptation any longer.  I have seen these pinwheels on quite a few blogs recently.  Finally I decided it's time I try to make one myself.  This is so simple... cut a piece of square DSP.  Make cuts from the corner toward the center, but not all the way to the center.  Maybe like 3/4 of the way.  Then, take one edge and pull it toward the center.  I would recommend using a glue dot to secure the flap.  Repeat with every other edge.  Then use a brad in the middle.  For the stick, I happened to have a skewer on my desk that I just cut to size.  Tied a cute ruffled ribbon on.

My card today was inspired by Vicki Burdick.  I didn't feel like making it with as many layers as Vicki had, so I took the liberty to simplify.  This was also probably the first time I've actually mixed different packs of DSPs on a card.  I needed the pinwheel to pop, but I didn't feel like using just plain cardstock.  The Flirtatious DSP pack had just enough of pattern vs. color that I liked.  Plus, this one happened to be of single color, so I didn't have to worry about mixing and matching a whole bunch of colors together.  And I also wanted to use Calypso Coral, 'cause it's just so summery!

My Supplies List (all supplies and images by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamp Set(s): Happy Greetings
Ink: Calypso Coral
Papers:  Calypso Coral, Flirtatious DSP, Just Add Cake DSP
Accessories: Designer Printed Brads, Calypso Coral 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon

Paisley Petals Box Kite & Card

How cool is this little thing?  I CASE'd this from Karen.  Simple enough to do quickly.  Best of all, it folds flat for mailing.  One tip on gluing/taping the front DSP to the cardstock... glue down one side, fold together, then tape down the other side.  This way you won't get any bubbles.  The other tip is on taping the front piece to the back... flatten out the whole thing, then tape.  This is because, if you're like me, the folds never really line up correctly.  So if you taped from the corner, your box won't be able to fold totally flat.  Hope that makes sense to you.  If you have questions, leave me a comment to let me know.
This one is pretty much completely CASE'd from The Crazy Stamp Lady.  She said hers was also CASE'd, but she didn't list whom she CASE'd from, so I can't credit the original creator.  Here's how it looks opened.

Stamping411: Beyond the Garden

It was too late for the end of my Top Note Die week, but I still got excited when I saw this Stamping411 sketch.
Do you see how beautiful that bow is?  I saw a video with a simple tutorial to make a perfect looking bow HERE.  Isn't it cool???

For this challenge, I actually made this card first.
Then when I went back to check the sketch, I realized my placement of the Top Note Die is off.  That's why I did one at the top.
